Prepaid Loyalty Program

The Prepaid Loyalty Program is a solution for those who want their customer's to earn credits and then redeem them in the sales categories that you desire.

Setting up the prepaid loyalty program

To create a prepaid loyalty program, perform the following:

  1. In POSExpress log in with the proper permissions to make changes to the backend.

  2. Select Tools | Options | Reference Tables | Customer Class.

  3. Select the Customer Class that you wish to earn Prepaid credit back, then select the Edit button.

  4. Select the Prepaid Credit Back checkbox.

  5. Scroll down and select the Save button. This enabled the members of that customer class to earn prepaid cash back.

  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to enable each desired customer class for the prepaid loyalty program.

  1. Next in Options still, select Reference Tables | Sales Category. The Sales Category screen displays to the right.

  2. Select a Sales Category for which you want to either earn or redeem prepaid credits and then select the Edit button. The edit screen displays.

  3. In this window, do one or both of the following:

  • If you want to enable the category to earn cash back, enter your percentage into the Prepaid Back field. This will allow the customer to earn that percentage back in prepaid credit.

  • If you want to enable the category to allow for the redemption of prepaid credits, then select the Prepaid checkbox from under the General tab. Note: You may have to scroll down to see it.

Note: In the instance where you want your customers to earn credit for purchasing something, but not be able to buy from that same category, enter just the percentage number in the Prepaid Back field. Conversely, If you want them to purchase from that category, but not earn anything from that category, leave the Prepaid Back field blank but check the Prepaid box.

  1. Click the Save button at the bottom middle of the screen to save that category.

  2. Repeat Steps 8 and 9 to set up all eligible sales categories.

  3. Select Close when finished.

When all categories and customer classes have been set up successfully, then you can begin to use the program after you have restarted POSExpress.

How to use the prepaid loyalty points

To earn credit:

  • Ring in a sale of a prepaid back-eligible item to a customer account that is eligible to receive prepaid credit back. The customer will automatically receive the credit to their account.

To redeem the credit:

  • Look up a customer with available credit, then ring in items that are eligible for prepaid redemption. Finalize the sale using the payment method Prepaid to use the credit for redemption.
