How to send notifications from CPS Air to your Gallus app

 

In the 3.104 version, you can now send a notification to your members using the Gallus app. In CPS AIR, we added a *Send Notification* button to CPS Air in Starter Hut.

 

QUICK STEPS OVERVIEW

  1. You must set this up on the Gallus section in the Online Options site.

  2. Create a customized short notification message.

  3. Send the message from CPS Air’s Starter Hut, a reserved cell on the tee sheet, to a customer using the Gallus app registered with an account using his email address.

To enable the Gallus notifications in Online Options

Go to your Online Options site and navigate to the Gallus section, then select the Enable Push Notifications API checkbox and enter the API and other information.

To create and set up your message

You will use or create the message to send to the Gallus apps in the Email Module; it must be a simple text message with no formatting.

Send the notification from CPS Air

You can send the push notification via the email wizard of POSExpress’ Starter Hut, in the Email module, using the Broadcast button, in Starter Hut, and with CPS Air’s Starter Hut.

Note: Make sure that your customers have the Gallus app installed and that they have created an account with their username being their email address; they must create their Gallus app account using their email address, or they won’t get the notifications you send.

To send the notification from CPS Air to a customer’s device using the Gallus app, do the following:

  1. Sign in to CPS Air using your PIN, which has permission to use Starter Hut.

  2. Go to StarterHut.

  3. Select a tee time cell reserved for a customer using the Gallus app on their mobile device and who also has used their email as their username for their account.

  4. In the lower-left corner, select the three dots and then select Send Notification. An email template displays.

Note: You can also send an email from this template, but it is one or the other without doubling back to the three dots again.

  1. (Optional) To edit the message, enter the new message in the Subject line ONLY; also, it must be a short message.

  1. Select the Bell icon in the top right of the Send Message template. The notification is sent immediately to your customer's notifications on their mobile device.

Note: You could select the paper airplane in the same top-right corner to send this as an email instead. You could make changes and additions to this message as needed.

 

To receive the app notification

Ensure that your customers have the Gallus app installed and have created an account with their username being their email address; they must create their Gallus app account using their email address, or they won’t get the notifications you send. The Gallus app will be named after your golf course in most cases.

Note: This is NOT a text message - and will not appear anywhere inside the app; it will only display in the device's notifications.
