Cancelled tee time will not show online until X minutes feature
In the 3.96 release, a feature was added that allows you to prevent showing a tee time for X amount of minutes after it was cancelled so that the golfer who cancelled cannot book that same tee time again until that set time has passed.
The new option is course-specific and is found in the Course Option section of your site’s Admin.
To set the time amount for the tee time to display after cancellations
-
Go to your version 4 online reservation site and log on as Admin.
-
Select the Course Option section on the left-hand side then scroll to the new Tee Time Availability Delay sub-section:
Note: The checkbox is unselected or disabled by default.
-
Select the Allow cancelled tee times to be re-booked online ______ Min(s) after a cancellation checkbox to enable the delay.
-
Enter the number of minutes for the number of minutes you would like to pass before the tee time appears available again.
-
Select Save at the bottom of the page. The new setting takes place immediately.
Guest books a “Capacity Pricing” tee time which is 8-60 days in advance. This is a premium price regardless of residency. Entire day sells out. The guest waits until 7 days or less (regular rack rates) and during early in the day or very late in the day … cancels his tee time, immediately rebooks at the cheaper rate. Question is: how can we prevent this from happening? IE – can we set something up that once a tee time is cancelled online (they only do it this way), that the time is held and may not be booked online for an amount of time determined by us … 33 or 48 minutes or the like?
As word gets out on how to scam the system, it completely undermines the intent. We already have one “local” (least expensive rate we have) who has booked out the rest of October and will cancel inside 7 days to save himself $$$. Not illegal but arguable unethical.
