Added the [CustomerName] key field to Web Store templates

Added the key field [CustomerName] into the Web Store email templates in the Web Store backend in release 3.98. Previously the [CustomerName] key field only worked for the Retrieve Password template. This new feature enables you to address your customers appropriately by name and make it more personal.

Note: Available in Order Email and Reminder Email.

To update the Web Store email templates using the customer's name

  1. Go to the Email module.

  2. Select the Template tab at the top of the screen. The list of templates display.

  3. Select one of the Web Store email templates or one that you created for the Web Store.

  4. Select the Key Field button in the middle of the screen. The key fields display to the top right of the screen.

  5. In the Type drop-down field, select WebStore. All the available Web Store key fields display.

  6. Scroll down and find [WEBSTORE_CUSTOMERNAME], click it and drag it where you want in the email template.

Note: You can also type (or copy and paste the [WEBSTORE_CUSTOMERNAME] key field) anywhere you want it in the email template instead of finding, clicking, and dragging the key field from the Key Field list box as in steps 4 - 6 above.

  1. Click Save and Exit. The next time a customer triggers that email template, the new key field will display in the email.
