To maintain or copy contact information when creating a sub-account

In the 3.98 release, an option was added to maintain or copy an address from the main account when assigning or creating a sub-account.

 

Rather than repetitively copying/pasting address/contact information from the parent account to sub-account(s), since sub-accounts frequently share a home address and contact information with the main account, you can use a checkbox in the "Add Sub Acct" window that allows you to maintain the parent account's address and contact information when creating or assigning new sub-accounts

 

This option will ideally work when a sub-account is linked to a parent account with "Select an existing account" (should overwrite any existing address/contact information with that of the parent account's) as well as when the "Create a new sub-account" button is used (parent account's address/contact information should automatically populate in the New Customer form)

To easily copy an address and phone number to a sub-account

  1. Go to the Customer module.

  2. Look up the parent or main account.

  3. Select the Sub Account tab slightly to the right and middle of the screen. The Sub Account section displays below.

  4. Select the Add Sub Acct button at the bottom-middle of the screen. The Sub Account pop-up displays.

  5. Select the Copy address/phone number from parent account to sub account checkbox.

  6. Select the Create a new sub account button. The Add New Account screen displays the address and phone number information displaying in the appropriate fields below.

  7. Enter all necessary fields to complete this account. Click here for more information on that.

  8. Click OK when finished. If an Employee  PIN prompt appears, enter it now. The new account displays in the sub account list complete with the address and phone number information.
